Southern Siena, take the ancient Strada Lauretana between Taverne d’Arbia and Asciano. The Site transitoire is on a hill between Leonina castle and the village of Mucigliani.
From Florence
From the highway exit Firenze Sud (Certosa) and take the speedway Firenze-Siena. Drive to the end of the four-lane road and at the fork Grosseto - Arezzo take the road to Arezzo. After around 2 kilometres at the second fork Siena Est - Arezzo take again the road to Arezzo, which leads also to the speedway Siena – Bettolle. Exit the second exit Taverne d’Arbia and follow direction Asciano. Now you are driving on the Strada Lauretana, drive for 3 kilometres (through a level crossing and the town Taverne d’Arbia) till you see on the left a dirt road bordered by cypresses and a road sign to Leonina. Turn here on the left and after one kilometre on the top of the hill there is the sculpture.
From the highway A1 Roma-Firenze
Exit Valdichiana and follow the direction Siena till you reach the four-lane road Siena - Bettolle. Drive towards Siena and exit Taverne d’Arbia. Follow the direction Taverne d’Arbia, cross the town and follow direction Asciano, after around 3 kilometres turn on the left on a dirt road bordered by cypresses, direction Leonina, drive around one kilometre, the sculpture is on the top of the hill.
It is not possible to see the sculpture from the state road.
