Installing Site Transitoire in 1993 in the heart of Crete Senesi Hills has produced a space and turned this open place into a 'passage' and meeting one. Little by little Site Transitoire has become the name of that hill between Leonina and Mucigliani.
From the wish of Jean-Paul Philippe and of some friends to share this mental and physical place, Site Transitoire becomes a meeting place among arts. The occasion of an unexpected performance turns in a sharing moment between uniqueness of this landscape and the sculpture, marking also the beginning of an event, which takes place each year at the summer solstice’s time.
A spontaneous movement: the almost animist force, which exalt the relationship between nature and sculpture, inspires the artists and they make works, which talk together with the silence and the loneliness of the sculpture, penetrating and putting a precious and invisible trace in the air, in the light and in the time of this place.
The Association Site Transitoire is rooted in this spontaneous movement and its aim is keeping on with increasing the value of the monumental sculpture Site Transitoire by Jean-Paul Philippe and protecting it.
The Association handles all the rights on the sculpture Site Transitoire. The sculpture belongs to Jean-Paul Philippe and it is kindly hosted on the land owned by Mr. Rocco Sardone.
